Does eating late at night make you fat?

Eating late at night doesn’t automatically make you gain fat.

100 calories don’t magically become 300 calories just because you eat them at 10 PM instead of 10 AM.

What matters most is your overall calorie intake over time, not simply when you eat.

If you eat dinner at 10 PM but stay within your daily calorie needs, eating late won’t automatically cause fat gain.

The problem is what often happens at night. You’re tired, watching TV, scrolling your phone, and snacking on chips, biscuits, or whatever is lying around. Those extra calories can push you into a calorie surplus.

If late-night eating makes you overeat, plan a satisfying dinner and an evening snack if needed. Avoid eating directly from large packages.

Stop worrying about eating after 8 PM. Focus on what you eat and how much you eat throughout the day.
